Little London Whispers

Lucky us, we won 4 tickets from Fortnum & Mason to go to London’s Night Market in Kensington as part of London Food Month.  Ready steady GO… ?

Having heard several negative comments over the weekend, mainly about it being so busy, we went at 6pm (doors open at 5pm Mon – Fri) to beat the crowds and take advantage of a gorgeous evening.

After a quick scoot around, we grabbed a Don Julio cocktail, which was sooo good, and headed to the Angela Hartnett tent for the Dastaan Indian.

Mr B loves his Indian food, and this hit the spot, including the lightest puff rice salad – totally delicious.

We then made our way to Cinnamon Bazaar (the vegetarian sister restaurant of Cinnamon Club) and tucked into more curry – again truly delicious, with stunning flavours.

I then stumbled across my lovely friends at Na.tive from Neal’s Yard where they were serving up wood pigeon with game chips. It reminded me that I must go back!

The Night Market has an outdoor cinema, with some great classics, and a few latest movies for the perfect long night out.  With ping pong, telephone boxes for silly photos, delicious ice cream and popsicles from Fortnum’s, it’s all there.

A fabulous night out with totally delicious street food.  Tom Parker Bowles is right when he says “London is unquestionably the greatest eating city on Earth” I mean who thinks of a truffle burger – Mews of Mayfair apparently!! With over 50 stalls there is something for everyone.

We had a great time. However, I would avoid weekends unless you have more patience than me, or go when you aren’t starving, or possibly you are under the age of 40!

The Night Market runs until 18 June, as part of London Food Month. Your ticket purchase helps support food waste charities which help the most vulnerable in our society.

Bon apetit mes amies.
