My foodie surprise this week took me to an adorable new vegetarian eatery in Chelsea called Wulf and Lamb. I ventured off as a vegetarian virgin with my fitness trainer Georgie Spurling.

I’ve known Georgie for over 18months, as a trainer she is fantastic, but she also promotes a vegan lifestyle that is so enviable. When I was invited to Wulf and Lamb, I knew she was the right person to bring along.

Located on Pavillion Road, a quiet little street off Sloane Square, with charming  artisans, independent shops and restaurants. Wulf and Lamb is the newest eatery to open, and as a vegetarian and entirely plant based one, it’s a refreshing addition. A food trend that is very much on the up, for more health benefits than I have time to list.

Downstairs you place your order, grab your juice, or get your food to go.  Eating downstairs is more cafe style, but venture upstairs and you find yourself in a delightful light and airy restaurant. Those picture perfect food photos, had us heading upstairs.

I left all the ordering to Georgie.  We went BIG.  We ordered two burgers, because one is never enough, we had a mango noodle salad, and a side of mac & cheese.

Wulf & Lamb’s signature burger is made with seitan. Seitan is apparently is a staple in vegetarian cooking, and an acquired taste.  So a key one to taste and try.

Our other choice is the spicy vegetable burger. I went safe and threw in the mango noodle salad, but the key was mac & cheese – again if you can get this right, it is the game changer.

The Verdict on Wulf and Lamb

Georgie’s most positive message was that Wulf and Lamb have created a beautiful space to eat vegetarian food, and that in itself is unique.  The fact they are serving up good food is a massive plus.

Tasty burgers they were indeed. The Wulf burger went down a treat, the spicy veg burger was nicely spiced. Neither were dry, with added vegetables in a truly tasty freshly toasted seeded brioche bun, they were a hit.

The spicy mango salad, was as crunchy, spicy and tasty as it looks. I’m dreaming of the moment I can go back for more.

However, the game changer was their mac & cheese.  This is the hardest dish to get right, and very often restaurants fail miserably.  Wulf and Lamb have nailed it, this was tasty, the texture was right, it was delicious and we ‘wulfed’ it down!

Check it out Chelsea… you don’t have to be a vegetarian to enjoy Wulf and Lamb, but, go along try this all day eatery, try something new. You won’t be disappointed.
