A visit to Charleston
Posted on July 30th, 2018
We are so excited to say that we have been offered a small number of places, to join a V&A group visit to the country home of the Bloomsbury Set, known at Charleston in Sussex.
Charleston is the country home of the Bloomsbury Set. A group of intellectuals, led most famously by Vanessa Bell, Virginia Woolf, E.M Forster, Duncan Grant & Roger Fry to name but a few.
The date of the tour is Friday 21 September 2018, and will be led by Christina Lalumia. Christina takes the V&A course : The Twentieth Century : Masters of Modern Architecture and Design course, and covers this era in her course. Christina is an expert in the subject & era, she literally brings the subject alive.
The private tour will not only include Charleston House and the gardens, we will also visit Berwick Church, where you can see the beautiful murals by Bell and Grant. We hope to have lunch either at Charleston or the local Berwick pub.
If you are interested in joining the small group please email: email@example.com for further information. The details are being finalised at the moment, but we expect it to be a really wonderful and rewarding day out.
This offer is in no way associated with the V&A, I happened to do Christina’s course last year, and as there were some places available for the tour, they have kindly asked me if I wanted to offer it to my subscribers, so it really is a very special offer.
Any queries should therefore be directed to me and not the V&A. My email is: firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are interested in the V&A courses (which I can highly recommend), you can find all their details here for the 2018/19 programme.
