There are a number of fabulous ice rinks open this festive season, from the iconic Somerset House to the new Glide at Battersea Power Station. They all boast Christmas displays, some with DJ-themed nights to match. We’ve picked 7 of our favourite places to ice skate this month.

Canary Wharf Ice Rink 

Canary Wharf Ice Rink is London’s longest-running rink and for good reason. Glide under the rink’s covered canopy and enjoy the skyline of Canary Wharf and Alpine-themed bar. Until 24 Feb 2024.

Glide at Battersea Power Station 

Set beneath the Battersea Power Station building, Glide offers skaters an open-air rink experience with views of the Thames. Take advantage and book one of their private igloos to take the skate experience up a level with a group of friends. Until 7 January 2024.

Hampton Court Palace Ice Rink 

Fancy a skate in the heart of the city against the backdrop of Tudor Palace? Layer up and head to the outdoor rink at Hampton Court to enjoy the timeless charm of this historic palace. Until 7 Jan 2024.

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland Ice Rink 

Enjoy a glide under the twinkling lights at the UK’s largest open-air ice rink in Hyde Park. Winter Wonderland combines skating with rides and activities for a fun festive experience. Daily 10am-10pm. Until 1st Jan 2024.

Alexandra Palace Ice Rink 

There is no better way to enjoy the charm of Alexandra Palace than circling around on skates whilst listening to Christmas music. Open all year round, this rink hosts Christmas discos and light displays during the festive season. 

Queen’s House Ice Rink 

Immerse yourself in the charm of the Queen’s House in Greenwich. A magical open-air ice rink in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Think Bridgerton on Ice! Until 7 Jan 2024.
