Fashion & Photography with Gavin Bond at Claridge’s
Posted on September 24th, 2022
Know the name.. Bond.. of course you do. Know the name Gavin Bond, you should do. Gavin Bond is a fashion photographer from the 90’s. He began his career as a fashion designer at Central St Martin’s and switched to photography half way through.

Bond’s first break came when he took photos of a Vivienne Westwood show, she loved them so much she had him come back and do more.
Gavin Bond has photographed everyone from Kate Moss, Stella Tennant, to those supermodels of the 90’s, Linda, Naomi, Christy, Cindy and Nadya. His images just come alive when you see them blown up.

Being There | Claridge’s Art Space
Claridge’s Hotel has the fabulous Art Space they opened in 2021 with an explosive installation by Damien Hirst. The Art Space can be found around the back of the hotel in Brook’s Mews, and this latest exhibition by Gavin Bond hits all the right notes.

Floor to ceiling fashion photography pulls this Being There exhibition together. Nothing is hidden away. It is bold, colourful, fun and beautiful. This was Gavin’s lockdown project. He went through all his archives and as they say the rest is history.
The collection of unseen archive photography from the backstage at the runaway shows, is just what London needed right now to bring it out of mourning. The Queen, was after all Patron of the British Fashion Council.

Do not leave without sitting in on the short film to music of the fashion shows. See all the girls doing what they did best… It is just fabulous darling.
