Little Venice Canal Festival | 4-6 May. Canalway Cavalcade returns to Little Venice. Supporting London’s waterways is the theme, lots of boats on display with an illuminated procession, it’s the nicest way to start your bank holiday weekend. Saturday & Sunday 10am – 5pm. Monday 10-5pm. Evening procession 9pm Sunday evening.

Marc Quinn : Light into Life | Kew Gardens 4 May – 29 September. Sculpture, blurred lines and landscapes will be at the heart of this exhibition opening at Kew for the summer. Keep an eye on my stories, as I’ll be there for preview day.

National Gallery is 200 | 10-12 May. Yes, this London museum, this London institution is 200 years old. With a birthday comes a year long party that begins over this weekend and you are invited. A huge emphasis on family fun, there will be a light show in the evening, and maybe even cake!

Photo London 16- 19 May. Photography enthusiasts, this is the place to be inspired by photography, with some the best photographers of the world under one roof. Booking essential.

V&A Fragile Beauty opens 18 May. The exhibition showcasing one the country’s finest photography collections from Elton John and David Furnish. Can we hope for an EJ soundtrack as we view?

London Craft Week 13 – 19 May. I absolutely love this week. LCW shows off the very best of craftsmanship in the city. It’s a great opportunity to go behind the scenes and see how things are made and created. Look at the programme and book at least something. From Millinery to ceramics, watchmaking to musical instruments the world is your oyster.

London in Bloom | Let’s start with Chelsea Flower Show which begins 21 May kicks it all off. The surrounding area Chelsea in Bloom and Belgravia in Bloom will have themed displays tempting you in and around the area. If the weather plays ball so does this.

Head to Sketch in Mayfair inspired by the National Gallery’s birthday, their theme is National Treasures.

Clerkenwell Design Week | 21-23 May. You need to register in order to visit and gain access to the exhibition venues. Wednesday is late night.

Saatchi Gallery Beyond Fashion | 31st May – 8 September An exhibition dedicated to fashion photography  over four decades. 

Lock & Co Hats | In collaboration with Brown’s Hotel. They have created an afternoon tea of couture hats inspired by the tea parties of Queen Consort, Catherine of Braganza.

Created by Head Millinery Designer Awon Golding, the collection will be on display at Brown’s Hotel, with their afternoon hat themed tea, and in the window of Lock & Co in St James’s.
