Looking for Christmas festivities in London unlike anything else planned for the season? The Big London Bake has you covered.
From the 14 November – 31 December, The Big Bakes are running Christmas-themed, 90 minute baking sessions in their Haggerston and Tooting locations. Baking experience is not necessary. Instead, grab a drink at their gorgeous bar, and battle it out against 11 other duos!
The Big Bakes Haggerston
After entering the venue through a seemingly misplaced fridge door in Haggerston, I was transported into a magnificent marquee where the bake off would be held.
Equipped with instructions and gorgeous baking equipment, we were briefed by professional bakers. You can follow instructions to bake a Reindeer, Santa Claus or Snowman cake. But creativity was encouraged and seeing everyones unique creations added to the atmosphere!

Time for the serious part..
Christmas flavours were part of the brief, we chose chocolate and orange. Keeping it classic with the flavours, we made and added fondant oranges for character.
Next came the judging. Up against some seriously impressive competition, we didn’t take a win. But we did take home some stellar baking tips, and great memories!
A post-bake cocktail
After the excitement of a bake-off, there is a lovely bar to relax in. Enjoy a classic, or opt for one of their cake-themed cocktails.
The evening was such a fun and refreshing take on Christmas festivities. With tickets starting at £45.50, this could be a great Christmas gift (they offer vouchers), or simply a treat for the festive season. Group bookings are available, so also a great option for a fun Christmas birthday or work-do!
